What is “Reverse the Red"?

Reverse the Red aims to reverse the current negative trends in species survival highlighted by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and Ecosystems. Reverse the Red aims to ignite optimism and collaborative action to guarantee the survival of all species we share this planet with, and the ecosystems they live in and to empower communities around the world to make this happen.

“Reverse" the endangered

We can surely “reverse the red" ! It requires efforts from various aspects to reverse the current negative trend in species survival. For example, Ocean Park has been developing breeding programmes for multiple species. And international collaboration is in place to combat the trade of endangered species. Your environmental actions, such as adopting a low-carbon diet and reducing plastic usage, can help protect the habitats of animals! We have witnessed successful cases before, such as the giant panda and the Tibetan antelope, both of which were downgraded from “Endangered" to “Near Threatened" in 2016 and to “Vulnerable" in 2021 respectively on the global list of endangered species!
Reverse the Red Day

Reverse the Red Day is celebrated February 7. Institutions and organizations around the world are putting together social media, communications, and in person events to celebrate conservation success stories – Reverse the Red is always optimistic that we can save species because we know conservation action works.
